城は1679年から1691年にかけて、中世のウォーターキャッスルに代わって、ホーエンローエ＝キュンツェルザウ伯爵ヨハン・ルートヴィヒによって4翼の複合施設として建設されました。1679年から1868年までホーエンローエ家の居城であり、1873年から1934年まで教員養成学校でした。1937年から1939年にかけて建物は完全に改築され、今日では寄宿舎付きの州立ギムナジウムが入居しています。

都市計画的にユニーク。左側にはすべての建物が並んでおり、右側にはすべての建物が均等にねじれて配置されており、それぞれ小さな三角形の広場が形成されています。

The "Vogelhalde Sindringen-Ohrnberg" nature reserve in the lower Kocher valley has been home to one of the largest grey heron colonies in the Stuttgart administrative district for decades. At 216 hectares, the area is unique, being the largest of the 21 nature reserves in the Hohenlohe district.

An arched bridge with cobblestones spans the Kocher River, offering a good view of the water. The three-arched stone bridge, featuring three icebreakers and wedge-shaped passing places above, was built around 1700, repaired in 1790, partially destroyed, and rebuilt in 1945.

The Kocherwerk – Museum of the Screw and Fastener Industry offers a fascinating insight into how small screws transformed into major technological history. Interactive exhibitions, digital stations, and hands-on real machines await you in the historic Red Mill. Located directly on the Kocher-Jagst cycle path, the museum, with its bistro and terrace, also invites you to linger – a place that combines industry, region, and experience.

The Würzburg Gate is one of Forchtenberg's historic city gates and an impressive example of medieval urban architecture. 🏰🚪 It is located at the eastern entrance to the old town and was once part of the city fortifications that protected Forchtenberg from attacks from Würzburg. With its massive masonry, characteristic round arch, and adjacent half-timbered houses, it still exudes strength and history.
