A typical rural commune of the region, Sancoins is located on the borders of the provinces of Bourbonnais, Nivernais and Berry.

Modest Romanesque building from the 12th century composed of a nave with a bell tower raised on its southern side and an apse. It was remodeled in the 17th century. It houses three large stone statues, two of which are listed as MH (representation of Saint Michael slaying the dragon and representation of Saint Mammès) and four small wooden ones.
