The first part of the hike up Straumklumpen ascends through lovely woodland. The park is signposted and the hike reveals stupendous views of the surrounding mountains, including the Lofoten Wall out to the west.

The views on the way up Straumklumpen are wonderful. After you leave the wooded slopes, the open mountainside gives you the opportunity to gaze down and fjord and take it all in.

At 2,877 feet (877 m), Straumklumpen provides a superb panorama. In the west, there's the iconic sight of the Lofoten Wall, while Blåmannisen, Norway's third largest glacier, can be seen to the south. Gaze east for the peaks along the border with Sweden. Magical.

The church of Sulitjelma is a parish church erected in 1899. The building built of immaculate white wooden planks and which can contain up to 300 people responds to a typical architecture of the Scandinavian countries.

Sulitjelma Church was built in 1899. Just behind the church begins the 4 km long and 10% average climb to Ny Sulitjelma fjellstue.
