Børvatnet is a long, narrow lake in Bodø municipality, lying in a deep valley between the Børvasstindan mountains and the lower ridge of Børnupen in Nordland. The lake is a popular starting point for hikes to Børtinden, Lurfjelltinden and Lurfjellhytta, and is also well known for calm kayaking trips and winter ice-skating in a striking alpine setting.

Børelva is a short mountain river that flows out of the clear Børvatnet lake in Bodø municipality, running north through forest and farmland towards the main valley road beneath the Børvasstindan massif. The river is known as an accessible starting point for hikes towards peaks like Ryptinden and Børtinden, and it also offers local anglers simple fishing for trout and Arctic char near the lake outlet.

Børtinden is a 1,043–1,046 meter peak in Nordland, known as one of the prominent mountains of the Andøy area with a relatively modest prominence of about 129 meters. The hike is considered rewarding for its coastal and island views, making it a classic outing in this part of Northern Norway.

From this point on the hike to the glorious Per Karlsatind peak you get a great view of Stortind, one of the smaller peaks in the Børvasstindan range. It's worth stopping and properly taking in the majesty of your surroundings.

Per Karlsatind is one of the more accessible peaks on the stupendous Børvasstindan massif. It's a range that Bødo's people have a huge amount of admiration for and a hike here reveals exactly why. It's a breathlessly spectacular place to seek out the midnight sun.
