The entrance to the Richtis Gorge (also called Richtis Gorge) is located in eastern Crete, Greece, between the towns of Sitia and Agios Nikolaos. This gorge is best known for its lush vegetation, shady walking paths, and the beautiful waterfall at the end of the walk.

At two points, you have to cross large, slippery rocks. Ropes are strung between the trees for safety.

There are about four parking spaces at the entrance to the Richti Gorge. The entrance fee is normally €3. However, during the off-season, the booth where you pay is closed.

Sitia is a small port town and the center of sparsely populated northeastern Crete. Tourist offerings are largely limited to cafés and restaurants along the large harbor promenade, allowing the town to retain its original charm.

Very beautiful waterfall, the gorge was worth it for that reason alone...about an hour from the entrance to the Exo Mouliana car park and maybe about half an hour from the beach... The gorge itself...it felt like you went through the jungle once, a bit like the Plivicher lakes over wooden walkways, a bit of climbing and rocks, 1 great waterfall and 1 open gorge with lots of rock walls and at the end a small, beautiful, clear bay and the smell of herbs in between....
