A very nice trail. It's 17 km long and really makes the most of the few meters of elevation gain.

Slåensø Lake is located directly south of Borre Lake in the Silkeborg Sønderskov forest area. Due to the limited water supply, the water is very clean. The lake is situated in very hilly terrain and is a popular tourist destination, with Kongestolen (82 m high) located directly south of the lake, offering a beautiful view to the north. Denmark's tallest tree, a Douglas fir over 50 m tall, stands nearby. A good hiking trail leads around the entire lake.

With luck, Google Maps will somehow keep track of when the bridge is there and when it isn't. When we visited in early January, we weren't particularly hopeful of finding the bridge and that's exactly what happened... 🤷♂️

The Rediscovered Bridge, also known as “Den Genfundne Bro,” is a fascinating historic bridge near Horsens, Denmark. Originally built in 1899 as part of a railway connection between Horsens and Bryrup, the bridge was filled in in 1929 and fell into oblivion. In 2014, the bridge was rediscovered and restored, and today it is a popular tourist destination. The red steel lattice bridge, which is 13.4 meters high and 50 meters long, offers impressive views over the Gudenå River. It is a symbol of impressive engineering and a piece of revived Danish history. The bridge is part of the Horsens-Silkeborg Nature Trail, which is perfect for hiking and cycling. There is also good parking and picnic areas nearby, making it an ideal place for a family day out.

After a steep climb you can start a nice flowy descent with many curves, fun all the way through

There are nice places to sit anywhere, there are good cycling and hiking trails. A great view just above the beach and the Infinity Bridge and a little below the game reserve
