Over the bridge from the town and to the left, or park at the Library and walk along the river to the bridge. Take care The circle was erected at Llanrwst in 1950 for the 1951 National Eisteddfod. It consists of a circle of 12 stones with 2 outliers, using unhewn natural stones from near Llyn Ogwyn. Thought to have been reused for the 1989 National Eisteddfod.

Swallow Falls is one of the highest continuous waterfalls in Wales. It comprises a series of beautiful cascades on the River Llugwy, approximately one mile east of Betws y Coed, on the way to Capel Curig and just off the A5. The falls are surrounded by lush woodland. Swallow Falls is a breathtaking natural wonder that attracts thousands of visitors each year. Visitors can view the falls from a viewing platform. The viewing platform is open all year round and admission costs £2 (cash or credit card).

Cyfyng Falls (on the Afon Llugwy) are relatively unknown, although they are situated along the main road between Betwys y Coed and Capel Curig. The falls are directly below the road and can be seen from the Pont Cyfyng bridge. After the bridge turn right onto a lane/footpath which branches off to the right just after a gate. Follow this to the river for a better view. It is not the height that makes this waterfall so attractive, but the power of the water and the landscape.

The reservoir was originally built in 1924 to supply water for the hydro-electric power station in Dolgarrog, which in turn powered an aluminium smelting works. This power station is still operational today. Coedty Reservoir is historically significant due to its involvement in the devastating Dolgarrog Dam Disaster of 1925. The failure of the Llyn Eigiau dam, located upstream, led to a surge of water that also breached the Coedty dam. This resulted in a catastrophic flood that swept through the village of Dolgarrog, causing the loss of 16 lives. Coedty dam is a "balance tip" dam, meaning water flows from it automatically when it reaches high levels. This excess water flows into a spectacular gorge below, which is used by outdoor pursuit groups. However, gorge walking here can be dangerous due to the sudden releases of water.

The sobering part was reading how they thought it was safe after hearing the church bells. They weren't, it was the church getting swept away!!!!

The worst part of any hike ever. I had to carry on going up, creating my own path, through trees, scrambling up mudfalls, rock climbing with no ropes. it's all collapsed.

Just a little slice of paradise. Was the only person there, I hadn't actually seen a person all day. So..... a bit of free swimming was required

Approaching from the north it is a slog on the bike but nothing technical. With the right gearing and fitness it's all rideable if you're happy to take your time and plod.

Such a perfect spot. They've resurfaced the route over to Llyn Crafnant and it's now a largely smooth gravel track.

spent a good hour or so here. sheltered from a snow storm. read from y bibl, prayed and gave thanks to God. well worth the hike it took from Llanwrst

This remote location above the Conwy Valley may have been used for Christian worship since the 6th century. Rhychwyn, or Rhochwyn, was one of the 12 sons of Helig ap Glannog, who lost his court, known as Llys Helig, when the sea inundated it. As a result of this loss, the sons lived devout lives, some as monks. The current church was originally a one-room chapel, probably built in the 12th century. Part of the south wall by the doorway may date from the 11th century. It is said to be the oldest surviving church structure in Wales. It allows us to see what Welsh churches looked like before the Normans’ influence. St Rhychwyn’s Church was extended in the 14th century and the 16th, suggesting that the old church continued to flourish long after St Mary’s was established.

built in 1480 as a residential dwelling but has been a tearoom for over 50 years. famous for their cream teas, traditional BaraBrith , home made cakes and lunches. carpark, traditional indoor seating and outdoor tea garden, both with waitress service. situated on the west bank of the river Conwy beside the famous Inigo Jones Bridge in the picturesque market town of Llanrwst, at the gate way to Snowdonia.
