A great idea from the ADAC (German Automobile Club). Here you'll find an air pump and tools for minor repairs. According to the signage, there's even a bicycle breakdown service for members.

Very beautiful shelter, next to it a memorial stone in memory of Harald Krug, a recognized conservationist. From the hut you can observe the bird protection and breeding area of the little grebe, marsh harrier, bittern, lapwing or crane through hatches. An informative board explains the post-mining landscape of the Bockwitz nature reserve.

Old excavator shovel from the quarry pond & an information board behind it. The area is a nature conservation area & it is forbidden to leave the paths except at two marked bathing areas. You can still see trails leading to the water everywhere.

In principle, all parking spaces around the lake are free. In the summer, the fishing club sometimes sits in the parking spaces and charges €2. Perfectly fine, after all you are taking care of the area. This one is particularly beautiful because the herds of Longhorn cattle and their young graze there.

Be careful, this very beautiful & tempting beach is really extremely clayey, you can see traces of people trying to clean their soles everywhere afterwards 😄

Great viewing point with information boards about the lake and nature. Ideal for watching different types of birds and resting. Harald Krug was very committed to the continued use of the quarry lakes, had trees planted and thus created a safe retreat for nature.
