Crow Point is a peninsula that spans out from the Braunton Burrows Nature Reserve in the North Devon Area of Natural Beauty. It's a wonderful place for a walk during low tide, where you can discover old ship wrecks and experience wonderful views across the Taw & Torridge estuary.

Appledore is a beautiful coastal village characterised by its winding narrow streets, colourful houses, and rich maritime history. The village is located on the banks of the River Torridge and provides some excellent views across the crystal clear water toward Instow on the other side. The village features a number of fantastic pubs, restaurants, and cafés, as well as some shops, two churches, and a ferry port which can take you to Instow.

Fabulous little cafe just off the Tarka Trail and C2C routes. Great cakes, super friendly and plenty of bike parking. Ended up here after attempting to go into John’s Deli in Instow and encountering rudeness, extremely expensive and pretentious cafe offerings and no real seating options. Highly recommend the very slight detour to the beach car park for this cracking little cafe, also situated just across the road from the public toilets. Apparently open 7 days a week til 1800.

Beautiful spot and a great walk plenty to see and do. I will be visiting again.

During World War II American troops used the Braunton Burrows for assault training for D Day. These concrete structures along Pontoon Plain were built to simulate landing craft so soldiers could practice disembarking with their equipment.
