サットンでの周辺の簡単なハイキングとウォーキング

Southey Woods entrance is now blocked and the car parks that used to be inside the woods are now gone. The barrier at the entrance stops you from driving in. However, you can walk past the barrier and still hike, bike or walk in the woods. It is a popular area for dog walkers and hikers.

Quiet roads and easy ride

The stone bridge and high street are so pretty and peaceful it’s a bit of a shock to find you’re actually just a stone’s throw from two busy A roads. There is a slightly hidden bike path to take you under the A1 if you look for it.

The beautiful Water Newtown lock gate on the river Nene. Long traditional canal boats are often spotted gliding through here.

Neat village just a few miles from the Nene Valley heritage railway. A quiet lane runs west to Kingscliffe. Watch out for the WWII airfield memorial on the south side of this lane.

The Nene Valley Railway (NVR) is a heritage railway line that runs between Peterborough and Yarwell Junction. If you like watching vintage locomotives chugging through the countryside and enjoy that evocative smell of hot oil and steam, be sure to call in to Wansford Station. The trains run mainly on weekends.
