A shrine depicting the Fourteen Holy Helpers dates from 1844. Perhaps the shrine dates back to an older one donated after the Thirty Years' War.

The farms first documented in the 14th century belonged to the nearby Zabelstein Castle complex. However, agricultural conditions on the ridge were not favorable, and the farms were abandoned around 1840. Remains include the preserved cistern, the dried-up village pond, and some remains of walls. The fields and meadows are now all overgrown with forests.

Ideal place for a break.

The Zabelstein ruins are a wonderful place. The remains of the castle, the rest area with kiosk and the observation tower are inviting. A childhood memory!
