The St. James the Elder Church in Röthlein Röthlein church The church in Röthlein, with its neo-Gothic church and the pointed church tower modeled on Tyrolean churches, has an unusually high-quality artistic interior for a village church. Three years later the tower was renovated. In 1953/55 the bell tower received two new bells, including a complete renovation of the church. In 1965/66 the church was renovated and modernized again. The district of Garstadt is beautifully nestled between the Main and a 30 m high steep slope that supports the church, which can be seen from afar, and, downstream from the Main, the first vineyards south of Schweinfurt. On the left bank of the Main we find remains of alluvial forest in the Garstadter Holz, which contain botanical and zoological rarities.
