Beautiful view of Vianden from the castle!

This disused train station is located just above Bettel and just before Vianden. There is also a playground there.

The sheet pile wall is covered with moss. This was removed in certain places, after which these beautiful portraits became visible.

The ring wall began next to the first castle gate, fell steeply down to the valley to just above the Hansen-Mortier souvenir shop, rose again, forming an obtuse angle, to the upper town gate at the exit of the then main street, “Op dem Pawä”, now known as Alte Gasse, and then fell in a semicircle around the entire south side of the town to the bridge.
