The Ourtal is always a guarantee for a varied hike in the delux nature trail. A grandiose, ancient low mountain range runs through the Ourtal. The Our proves to be a true master of landscape design. The rocky Grenzsteig along the Lätges mountain with magnificent views provides an almost alpine experience. After so much ups and downs, the Ourtalstausee - the lower basin of the pumped storage power plant - invites you to take a relaxing stroll with its promenade and the Ourstaden von Bivels. The ruins of Falkenstein Castle are enthroned on a mountain rock high above the Ourschleife. A few steps downriver resides the medieval town of Vianden with its rebuilt castle - one of the most important and mighty castles in Europe.

This is just simply a beautiful castle in an even more beautiful riverside location. We had the most perfect day out here walking around the town and visiting the castle. Quite an exceptional castle as it is so well preserved and there is so much to see. Another stunning thing to see in stunning little Luxembourg.
