Built between 1669 and 1674 as a burial church for Dean Jacob de Berti, the church's black and gold altar, featuring a Renaissance image of St. Anthony, is in the style of courtly Baroque. The eight figures of saints in the corners of the chapel, depicting the mining patrons Barbara and Daniel, the weather patrons John and Paul, the plague patrons Sebastian and Rochus, and the family patrons Joseph and Joachim, were created by the Kitzbühel sculptor Benedikt Faistenberger. The dome houses a historically significant monumental fresco by Josef Schöpf, who, in 1803, created the first panoramic painting of a Tyrolean mountain landscape with a depiction of the town of St. Johann in Tirol and its surroundings.
