The hike is nice for a short trip from Prenzlau, but not worth the journey from Berlin.

stunning place for a short break

Right on the bike path, it's worth taking a quick break and jumping into the clear water. If not to splash around, then at least to take a postcard-perfect photo of the Prenzlau skyline.

The Protestant, listed village church of Gollmitz (Uckermark) belongs to the Schönwerder parish in the Uckermark parish of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia. The stone church, built in the second half of the 13th century and consisting of a nave and a retracted, rectangular choir in the east, was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. It was rebuilt in 1710–16 with a shortened nave. On the north side of the choir, in place of the former sacristy, the von Oertzen family's hereditary burial place made of plastered bricks was built in the second half of the 19th century, the facade of which is designed with arcades and the gable above with pinnacles. After war damage, only remnants of the original church furnishings remain.
