The Schwarzacher Steg is a striking covered wooden bridge. It spans the Main River near Mainleus.

The rock village of Freienfels is a picturesque district of the town of Hollfeld. The village is dominated by the imposing rock castle, which sits atop a dolomite cliff. It was originally built as a fortress in the 14th century. Today it is privately owned, but in the summer it serves as an atmospheric stage for the Franconian Theater Summer. There are currently plans to convert parts of the castle into a museum. The village is a popular starting point for hikes.

The Friesenbach spring above Kasendorf, with a normal flow rate of 400 liters per second, is one of the strongest springs in Northern Bavaria. The volume of water flowing from the spring can be explained by the fact that extensive, branching underground watercourses collect precipitation from a large catchment area encompassing the districts of Reuth, Azendorf, and Welschenkahl, and bring it to the surface here.

The houses and the banks of the Main River in Marktzeuln are beautiful. The traffic light system, however, is completely useless for cyclists. That's why I usually cycle slowly and leisurely along the sidewalk, ignoring the phases. It only gets narrow at the upper gate. Here, you might want to use the traffic lights as a guide.

The photo shows the brewhouse of Kulmbacher Brauerei AG. Many varieties are produced here: Kulmbacher, Mönchshof, EKU, and Kapuziner beers. I enjoyed a Kapuziner wheat beer on the historic market square (photo).
