friendly little town

Pacy-sur-Eure is an ideal place to take a break. With its terraces, local shops, and lively small-town atmosphere, it's a popular stop for touring cyclists. There's also a steam train here for exploring the Eure Valley in a different way.

Located on the banks of the Eure River, the small village of Croisy-sur-Eure is ideal for a break. The village is divided into two parts. It houses a castle, a church, and old stones with authentic charm. As a side note, this is where the famous Boursin cheese is produced, founded by François Boursin in 1957.

I left on gravel, classic equipment, some elevation but very smooth.

The cathedral, which is mainly late Gothic, is made entirely of limestone. Inside the three-aisled building with a transept, the wall elevation is three storeys high, with the triforium in the nave, framed by cranked cornices, designed as a walkway, but in the choir - which is surrounded by a ring of chapels - it is lighted through. The arcades of the nave still show late Romanesque round arches.

In the wood of Saint-Michel, the greenway from Évreux to the Bec valley joins the GR 26 to offer a lovely asphalted section in the middle of the trees.

Le Clos du Manoir is the ideal place to spend the night during a hiking weekend in the Eure countryside. At the sight of the building, you will not be surprised to learn that it is a classified historic site.

Built between the 11th and 17th centuries, the Notre-Dame cathedral mixes many styles between its nave, its arcades, its transept, its choir, its windows and its chapels. A real must in Évreux.
