Kasteel Coninxdonck – 千年以上の歴史が新たな装いに Kasteel Coninxdonckのエレガントなファサードの背後には、1313年以前に遡る歴史が隠されています。かつてこの場所には中世の城があり、その基礎は現在の城の下に今も隠されています。 古い城は激動の歴史をたどり、1793年のフランス革命中に略奪され、火を放たれました。19世紀初頭、この地は新たな命を吹き込まれ、白い壁のファサードと特徴的なコーナータワーを備えた、エレガントな帝政様式で現在の城が建てられました。 周囲の広大な敷地もまた、発見する価値があります。壮大な菩提樹の並木道、城の農場、池、特別な古い木々がある6.6ヘクタールの歴史的な庭園です。 今日、Coninxdonckは再び活気ある目的地となっています。かつての貴族の別荘地は、結婚式、パーティー、イベントのためのスタイリッシュな場所として利用されています。このように、この何世紀にもわたる遺産は、歴史的な魅力を美しく保ちながら、現代的な解釈が加えられました。

1507年から1826年まで、城は男爵ド・ティセバート・デ・ゲントブルッゲ家の所有でした。コニンクドンクの領主は、ロード侯爵に封建的に服従していました。1767年からは、アレクシス・グレント・デ・カイユベール卿に賃貸されていました。

The Kalkenvaart is a waterway between the village of Kalken and the Scheldt River. It runs through the Kalkense Meersen nature reserve and is very popular with anglers, hikers, and cyclists. A wide cycle and walking path runs alongside the canal. Since its dredging in 2022, the Kalkense Vaart has been very clean. You can cross the canal via the Roerdompbrug (Broedomp Bridge) and/or watch for fish swimming by.

At the intersection of the 4 municipalities that form the Kalkense Meersen nature reserve, an observation platform, 5m high and 3.5m wide, placed by Natuurpunt in 2023, offers a beautiful view of the old Scheldt arm and more generally of the nature of the Kalkense Meersen.

Berlinde is a toponym and refers to 'berre' or barre linde. So there used to be a dry linden or one without leaves at this location. In 1623, Jan De Croock was paid for making a tree chapel. The stone chapel came after a petition from 1670 by Jan Eeghers, mayor of Laarne. An extension on the south side in 1774 gave the chapel its current form with an entrance portal and rood screen. Many parts of the interior are still authentic, such as the joinery and carpentry of the entrance door, the baluster railing of the rood screen and the plastered vault. The current bell tower replaces an older one. On the other side of the chapel is a cozy café with a terrace (De Berre Linde, formerly café De Kapelle).
