The Torfmoorsee is a quarry lake of approximately 24 hectares.

The current 57-hectare Torfmoor recreation area, with its 24-hectare lake of the same name, has a long history. It owes its origins to the construction of the A30 motorway.

Great trails, absolutely fantastic. It gets really beautiful afterward when you head towards the Dörenther Cliffs. The climb is truly tough, definitely not to be underestimated. Especially for organic bikers like me, I was totally exhausted when I got to the top, but hey, I did it ;-)))

A weather mushroom directly on the Hermannsweg. The first weather mushrooms were probably built in Prussia in the 19th century, but were still called Tahitian umbrella roofs at the time. A pencil drawing by Hermann Ziebland from 1880 has been preserved, showing a weather mushroom that is said to date from 1795. This can be considered the first confirmed evidence of such a construction.

The Brumleytal is a disused quarry that is privately owned by the Bergfreunde Ibbenbüren e.V. The wall height reaches up to 19 m, with both steep to vertical wall climbs and inclined rock structures. It is always worth stopping at the TORFMOORSEE. There is a sales room there, you can swim there or just relax on a bench and look at the lake
