Since its purchase in 1786, the castle has been privately owned by the Heereman von Zuydtwyck family from Roermond, and is still inhabited today by Philipp Freiherr Heereman von Zuydtwyck. Conclusion: Even though the castle is privately owned, a visit and tour of the complex is worthwhile. Tours of the public parts of the castle are also available upon reservation.
