One of the most popular photo motifs in the area is the small lighthouse in Waase, which greets all visitors on the bridge over the Focker Strom. To protect the water birds, it has no lighting. The 7-meter-high landmark of Ummanz was originally built by a restaurateur in 1997 and was even once a kiosk.
