The sheer size of this former holiday property is impressive enough. Especially when you see that the complex was not even finished yet. After the (re-)use by the GDR holiday authorities, another useful use has finally been found. A suitable clientele has now been attracted, probably in the interests of the town of Binz. I hope that the last buildings will also find a use.

From Breegerhafen you can get to the island of Hiddensee. A very nice little harbor

Unique and worth seeing - both the building and its origin and history!

As small as the port is, it still offers the starting point for trips to Hiddensee. A short stroll over the pier to the pretty sailing boats is always worthwhile.

Much of the old, decayed Prora can still be seen. It's nice how the place comes alive.

Ships sail from Breege to Hiddensee and - during the Störtebecker Festival - also to Ralswiek. The snack bar at the harbor (Hafenperle) is recommended.

The Spycker Manor Castle is the oldest secular building on the island of Rügen. Thanks to the four round corner towers, the building may look like a castle, but the inside of the castle surprises. Because the Gutsschloss, which has been in operation as a hotel and restaurant since 2006, has a very modern interior design. A visit to the “wedding tree” here on the farm is also worthwhile. It is said that when a groom carries his bride through the tree, the marriage lasts forever.

Alternative route to Wittow. The crossing is always a little experience.
