A fantastic moorland area, you don't know where to stop first.

The Specker See is located in the municipality of Kargow, southeast of Waren, in the west of the Müritz National Park in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district in southeast Mecklenburg. Only a 1,700-meter-wide land bridge separates the lake from the Müritz to the west. It is approximately 2,800 meters long and 1,300 meters wide.

Where the sea eagle circles in an endless sky, the osprey dives into the lake from dizzying heights and the trumpeting of cranes accompanies the spring and autumn of each year, is a landscape that reminds us of fairy tales and stories of days gone by. With its vast forests, glittering lakes and wondrous moors, it has something original, even wild, about it that awakens our awe of nature.

Now in late summer you can watch a beautiful sunset there.

To the west of Specker See is a moor that was once drained. This process was maintained until 1989, when the "Hermannsgraben" was closed and the water level in the dry bog rose again. The birch forest that once grew here died and a typical moor landscape formed, which you can observe wonderfully from the bike path.

The city port of Waren (Müritz) is located on the edge of the historic old town. In addition to the berths, the promenade with its numerous restaurants and shops invites you to linger and discover. From here you can take passenger ships to ship tours on the Müritz and the Mecklenburg Lake District. Sanitary facilities, drinking water, electricity, waste disposal options, boat repairs, sailmaking and a gas station are available for boat vacationers.
