A short hike through the mixed forest, especially on hot and sunny days. It's ideal for accompanying a dog, as there are play and swimming opportunities both at the Rantzau stream and at the small forest lake.

Several fords cross the wide gravel forest path in the Schierenwald. The small bridge is therefore very convenient for hikers.

Here at the Schierenwald forestry office there is a large, fully shaded 🅿️ for hikes through the Schierenwald. At the parking lot, the information board shows the hiking routes and burial mounds located here.

Hike 🅿️ at the Schierenwald forestry department. From here you can start 4 hiking routes through the Schierenwald & Lockstedt. There is an overview hiking map at the parking lot. The various sections of the Schierenwald are marked on it, as well as barrows. I could see some of them from the path.
