A beautiful town with the castle as its highlight. The castle is open in the summer from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The forecourt and the castle garden are freely accessible. There is an admission fee for the castle itself and the exhibitions. As of 2025, the fee is €7 per person. But it's definitely worth it.

Cadolzburg Castle is an impressive medieval fortress perched on a prominent rocky outcrop above the town of the same name in Bavaria. Its history dates back to the 12th century, and for a long time it was an important base for the burgraves of Nuremberg, later known as the Hohenzollerns. The castle served not only as a defensive structure but also as an administrative center and temporary residence. Today, the castle houses a modern interactive museum called "HerrschaftsZeiten!" (HerrschaftsZeiten!), which vividly conveys the history of the Hohenzollerns in Franconia and Brandenburg.

A somewhat hidden oasis in the middle of Zirndorf. Great beer garden 🥨🍻😁.

The Biberttal cycle path runs from the connection to the Altmühltal cycle path near Burghausen southwest of Oberdachstetten via Flachslanden past the Deutschordensburg - an impressive moated castle - to Unternbibert. Here it reaches the Bibert valley and largely uses the former route of the abandoned Bibert railway as far as Zirndorf. From Zirndorf it goes under the trough bridge of the Main-Danube Canal, past the Fürth outdoor pool, on the cycle paths of the city of Fürth to the connection to the Regnitz cycle path in the area of the confluence of the Pegnitz and Rednitz. The Biberttal cycle path is easy to ride throughout, in the west it is slightly hilly, in the rest of the area it is largely flat (on the former railway line). It mainly uses little-used local connecting roads, land consolidation and forest paths, partly also asphalted. From Unternbibert/Andorf into the urban area it is developed as an independent cycle path, mostly gravel or water-bound.

The church has a history dating back to the 8th century, possibly to the time of Charlemagne. Originally founded as a strategic base, it became a parish in the 9th century and was part of the Schwabacher March of the St. Emmeram Monastery in Regensburg. The patron saint of the church is St. Emmeram, whose canonization took place in the 8th century. Over the centuries, the church underwent various changes, including renovations in the 15th and 16th centuries and remodeling in the 17th century in the Margrave style. The church suffered severe damage during the Thirty Years' War, but was rebuilt after the war. Various restoration measures were carried out in the 19th century and later, including the draining of the church in 1857 and extensive renovations in 1912. The church also received an organ in 1682 and underwent a Baroque transformation in the 18th century with the construction of a pulpit and high altar. Source: Wikipedia
