The entire path is obviously no longer maintained. Most of the information boards and signposts are no longer there. So please don't expect what is presented here as a "highlight". In this case, the stones are still there. The table and bench are rotten. The signpost has been torn down...

The monument to Charlemagne lies west of Spielstraße on the Weser dike. There he is now lonely 😀

The poet Hermann Allmers, born in Rechtenfleth in 1821, had this monument to Charlemagne erected here because he is convinced that Charlemagne crossed the Weser with his army at this point, coming from Brake. It was inaugurated in 1899.
