Barlach's sculptures and paintings are exhibited in the bright exhibition building and in Barlach's studio house; the exhibition building currently has works on the theme of "movement": "Avenger", "Wanderer" and "Dancing Old Man". Since then, Barlach has created down-to-earth, authentic, earth-rooted, often clunky figures and was successful with them. At 40 he went to Güstrow, at 56 he had his studio house built, and died at the age of 68. Highly recommended, Güstrow and its two Barlach museums.
