Zinnkopf

Great tour with beautiful views of Lake Chiemsee. Currently, the autumn atmosphere is fantastic.

From here, you have a magnificent view of the Stone Agnes. According to an old legend, Agnes was a particularly pious and virtuous dairymaid who was miraculously protected from the devil's temptations by being turned to stone. The Stone Agnes is one of the three outstanding natural phenomena in the Berchtesgadener Land. It has been recognized by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment as one of "Bavaria's most beautiful geotopes."

A great summit with a sensational view.

Those who aren't in shape shouldn't underestimate the gradient; it's a steady climb. However, the summit and the views are very beautiful.

If you approach the Zinnkopf from Eisenärzt, after a stretch of forest path you will come to a signpost where you can decide to continue along the forest path (easier but much longer) or take the path to the summit (shorter but steeper). At the summit there are a few benches that invite you to take a break and enjoy the snack you brought with you. Conclusion: A beautiful tour, nice little mountain, everything done right 😊👍.

At a height of 1200 m, the Zinnkopf is certainly one of the smaller mountains around Ruhpolding, but it is still very worthwhile for a mountain hike. The forest road leads steadily uphill, past the Rabenmoosalm. Easy to walk, mostly fine grit. Only the last steep section to the summit cross is exposed and muddy when wet.
