A great way to cross the Kiel Canal. The transporter bridge (originally built in 1913 and renewed in 2022) is not only available for pedestrians and bicycles, but can also carry up to 4 cars. Use is free for everyone.

A ferry ride that is fun if not very varied. But you can go back and forth about 15 times - it doesn't cost anything :-) and then a refreshment after the long sea voyage in the now legendary snack bar :-)

It is not only possible to take the ferry to cross over here, to sit on the bench to watch the hustle and bustle on the canal and to watch the ferry while it is being crossed ... that alone is worth a trip here!
