The Bobzin hydroelectric power station near Lübz benefits from the steep gradient of the Elde River there: The adjacent lock, with a lift height of 6.80 meters, is considered the deepest in Mecklenburg. The Zieher family took over the power station and the farmstead of the caretakers' families in 1993. The house has since served as a guesthouse. A vertical water turbine installed in the power station in 1999 once again generates electricity. It also serves as an exhibition space for the Museum of Regional Electricity Supply. The coal shortage after the First World War, among other things, triggered the construction of these facilities. The hydroelectric power station of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin State Electricity Works and the Bobzin lock were built between 1923 and 1925. To integrate this lock into the course of the Elde, a section of the river was straightened, and locks dating back to 1803 were decommissioned. Two of these can still be found in Fahrenhorst and Forsthof near Kuppentin. The power plant remained in operation until its Soviet dismantling in 1946 and, using new technology, began generating electricity again in 1954. Due to technical problems and water shortages (agriculture required a lot of water), the plant was shut down again in 1974.

The Gutshaus Passow (also manor house) is a listed building in Passow, a municipality in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim in (Mecklenburg-West Pomerania). The house stands in an extensive landscaped park from the time the house was built. Ulrich Phillip von Behr-Negendank (1759-1817) acquired the Passow estate in 1797 and had a one-storey building erected at the current location. The former manor house is a classical, plastered two-storey building with a flat hipped roof. It was built in 1830 for August Gustav Hortarius von Behr-Negendank (1809-1847) over vaulted cellars, which probably date from the Baroque period. The narrow, single-storey side wings stand over a quarter-circle floor plan and are probably somewhat younger. The walls of the main house are structured by a fine joint cut plaster and strong cornices. The three central axes on both floors of the courtyard facade are set back behind a column arrangement of Doric order on the ground floor and Ionic order on the upper floor, the vestibule extends through both floors. The surrounding gallery is equipped with a wrought-iron railing, the dome is lit from the apex, it is artistically painted by Giuseppe Anselmo Pellicia with figurative and architectural motifs in the Pompeian style. Hans-Jasper von Behr-Negendank (1901–1944) sold Passow to Franz Beese in 1931, who was expropriated here in 1945. After 1990, the complex came back into private ownership and was used as a hotel until December 2015. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gutshaus_Passow

Directly opposite the town hall is Parchim's mighty St. George's Church. It was built after 1289 as a Gothic brick building on a fieldstone base. Previously, a late Romanesque basilica without a tower or transept stood on the same site. The interior is of great importance in terms of art history. This is especially true of the altar from 1421, the pulpit from 1580, a wooden sculpture from the 15th century, and the council pews from the 17th century. The Enlightenment philosopher Johann Jakob Engel found his final resting place in this church. https://www.parchim.m-vp.de/st-georgen-kirche-parchim/

After a devastating fire in 1612, the house was rebuilt by Jürgen Clausen, the then town speaker and provost of St. Mary's Church. In 1750, Johann Caspar Wage acquired it and, as town speaker and pewter caster, helped the house flourish again. Through marriage, it then passed to the merchant Jakob Christian Fanter (great-uncle of Fritz Reuter) in 1780. A turbulent history followed. Around 1800, with the change of ownership, the street gable in particular was redesigned in a classicist style, resulting in the frame of the front door, windows and loading hatches, which are visible again today, as well as the color of the facade. In 1993, the house was vacated in a completely desolate state. Since 1999, WOBAU Parchim, as the owner, has been committed to a comprehensive renovation in accordance with historic preservation requirements, in order to make it available for public use in its former glory. Through structural additions and the redesign of the courtyard, it has been adapted to meet today's modern requirements. http://www.zinnhaus-parchim.de/geschichte.html

The Parchim Lock is a lock on the Müritz-Elde waterway in Parchim. It is not operated by a lock keeper, but rather by the individual passing through; it is a self-service lock. The lock chamber has sheet pile walls into which ship fenders can slip if they are too small. Therefore, larger fenders should be used or care should be taken to prevent the ship from hitting the lock wall. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schleuse_Parchim
