And another small but fine castle in the Tauber Valley, not far from Bronnbach. Guided tours are only available on request, but you can drive up to the entrance, the view is worth it!

Gamburg Castle is a hilltop castle built in the 12th century in Gamburg. The castle has been privately owned since 1546 and has been inhabited throughout. The castle has been owned by the von Mallinckrodt family since 1980. In contrast to many other castles, the Gamburg, like e.g. B. in the Renaissance, rebuilt a few times, but it was never destroyed.

Today's Tauberbischofsheim Castle has its origins in a town castle from the 13th century. The castle took up the southernmost point on the city wall and was in a strategically good location near the confluence of the Brembach and the Tauber River. Today it is part of the grown city and is located almost directly in the center. The complex was originally probably triangular and had a moat towards the city that was leveled (today's Schlossplatz). All that remains of the town castle from the 13th century is the keep, known as the Türmersturm, which, with its impressive height of 28m, served well to monitor the surrounding area. There is a museum in the castle.
