Nice trip, very varied

Here the Bocholter Aa flows into the Aasee. A large pedestrian and cycle bridge leads across. From there you have a beautiful view of the lake. But it also has a negative side. Since the Aa carries a lot of sediment with it and becomes a bit slower here, a lot of sand is deposited behind the bridge, which in turn has to be dredged out regularly. In some places even small islands have formed.

The sculpture "Jonas in the Whale's Mouth" stands together with the large water fountain near the old Königsmühle. The fountain can be admired from all sides of the lake, but Jonas is more difficult to spot. In the 1970s, he stood in the swimming pool of the old outdoor pool (near the forest recreation area - now Bahia). You could dive between the tail fin and climb around on him. The sculpture is a gift from the Flender Antriebstechnik company in Bocholt.

アアゼ湖の北東岸には島と大きな遊び場があり、東岸には水浴場とビーチカフェ（旧Ottilie）があります。湖の南西にはサーフィン湾と小さな鳥保護島があり、北西にはボート乗り場とバーベキューエリアと避難小屋のある丘があり、湖の北西端にはヨナス、噴水、新しく改装されたアアゼテラスとR-カフェ（2026年予定）があります。 湖の周りには歩道と自転車道が整備されています。 湖の周りを散歩するのは素晴らしいですが、週末や天気の良い日には混雑することもあります。
