Wonderful paths through the fairytale forest, past ruins and a tower ..... 🧙‍♀️🧚‍♀️

The fairy tale forest was formerly run by the Driessen family. Above the fairy tale forest (Klausenhof Street) was the Driessen family hotel, which was later bought by the Klausenhof Academy to accommodate students from all over the world. This hotel was bought a few years ago from a privately owned textile company in Dingden and converted into a large family home.

The route is well maintained and well worth it.

Challenging mountain bike route through the beautiful Montferland forest (Zeddam)! The route was updated at the end of 2019 and has now combined challenging climbs with a few nice descents. On the Oude Eltenseweg (on the side of the Beekseweg) is a water tap where you can fill your water bottle with delicious fresh water for free. It is also possible to take a trip to the German Elten towards the Eltenberg. There is no official mountain bike route there, but if you behave properly, you are allowed to mountain bike there. There are some interesting forest trails, and at the end you will be rewarded with some very challenging (and steep) descents. The way back to the Montferland forest is always rewarded with a long (non-technical) descent.

Zeddam has a great mtb trail circuit and actually some vertical meters. There are no technical highlights but a pleasant view from above.

The 25-kilometer Montferland route with 447 vertical meters has a few tough climbs and nice fast descents. It is a very beautiful and well-marked mountain bike route. The route is well signposted, has many unpaved paths, has tough climbs and nice descents. A striking detail is that the route is relatively dry, even during the winter. A very tough unpaved climb where the small resistance is soon necessary. The route goes straight over the hill and takes you to the area "Groot Beekermark". Here the route takes you along the edge of the forest through the "Kleefse Hout". Then the route remains at the outer edge of the forest and you arrive at "Klein Beekermark". Via a part of the "Keurvorstenheuvel" you arrive at the Oude Eltenseweg past information point "'t Peeske" (one of the starting places of the route). The long unpaved Oude Eltenseweg runs right through fields and meadows and you arrive in the "Korterbos". Here you go via "Hooge Heide" and the "Hulzenberg" to the Boterweg. This is the connecting road with the part called Montferland. Here you drive over the "Galgenberg" and the "Plakslag". On the beautiful paths of the "Zeddammerbos" it goes back in the direction of the start of the route. It is also possible to drive half the route via a shortened route.
