Wonderful rest area, plenty of seating, a nicely decorated shelter including a well-stocked liquor cabinet and a trash can (you could also dispose of empty bottles here 👆). We spent a lovely break there.

A sporty climb over narrow, partly rooty forest paths, but absolutely worth it.

The little detour is definitely worth it

For the last 1.3 kilometers (just before the end of this suggested tour), the route follows the "Peace Trail." This trail alone is worth seeing, as it offers surprising sections: along a wall, close to a fence, through a former garden, etc. Numerous seating areas also encourage you to round off the tour with fantastic views over Lambrecht.

The south-west side of the Drachnfels is (unjustly) somewhat neglected. The path offers great views of the rock massif and you can admire some great formations. Ideal early in the year, when there are no leaves on the trees yet, then you can see the open chamber from below

In good weather the view is great. When it is snowy and cold the caves are slippery.

After leaving the forest you have a beautiful view over Lambrecht and along the Palatinate Mountains
