Access via the bridge over the A4 will be closed until September 2025. As a replacement, the forest path from Offermannstraße has been opened to cars.

A detour into history, French War.

The Max Bruch Trail commemorates the composer and conductor Max Bruch (1838-1920), who was closely associated with Bergisch Gladbach and was made an honorary citizen of the city in 1918. The Max Bruch Trail was created in 2020 to mark the 100th anniversary of his death.

The Max Bruch Trail is a theme trail around 12 km long that leads from Bergisch Gladbach through the Strundetal to Herrenstrunden. You hike back to the city via the southern ridges. The trail is named after Max Bruch. The composer, born in Cologne in 1838, was supported by the Bergisch Gladbach paper manufacturer Maria Zanders and was occasionally invited to the Strundetal.
