We often come here to various exhibitions. Very nice location, vaulted rooms, the tower is also accessible and there is something to see on every floor. There are also parking spaces in front of the castle. But please come by bike or public transport!!! Big old trees in the accessible castle park, all in all an interesting building with an eventful history. Currently owned by the municipality of Traiskirchen.

In 1930 extensive renovations took place. From 1934 to 1938 the former High and German Master Archduke Eugen lived here. Immediately after the annexation of Austria to the German Reich, the order was expropriated. In 1945 the order got its castle back, but the commander was moved to Vienna. After the retirement home run by German nuns was closed in 1988, the castle stood empty for 12 years and was neglected. In 1999 it was extensively restored. Since then it has served as the convent house of the Teutonic Order, Province of Austria. It is also the seat of the Austrian military bishop. Some of the rooms are available as a guest house for holding seminars.

The building complex of the Teutonic Order Castle is located on the site of a Babenberg castle church complex, the church of which dates from the 11th or 12th century. In 1241 the last Babenberg duke, Friedrich II, gave the small fortification to the Teutonic Knights. The castle was handed over to the Wiener Neustadt Commandery, founded in 1245. When the Turks invaded in 1529, the house was burned down. This was followed by the reconstruction and expansion of the fortifications. In 1683 the Turks devastated the castle again, which was subsequently restored. Towards the end of the 18th century, the Land Commander, Count Alois von Harrach, had major changes made to the castle.
