現在の城の敷地には、より古い施設があったと思われます。ハイリゲンクロイツ修道院の設立証書は1136年に遡ります。とりわけ、ユボルト・デ・トリブスウィンケレという証人が挙げられています。最初の要塞は、1120年から1230年頃にウォーターフォートとして建設されたと思われます。この家系は、クロスターノイブルク修道院の写本にも見られます。14世紀前半まで証明されています。後継者としては、ミステルバッハ卿、そして間もなくヴィンデンのヴォルフガングが見られ、彼の家族の元に1527年まで残りました。

それ自体は非常に興味深い遺跡で、塔の門にはまだ無傷の円形礼拝堂があり、煙突のある台所も無傷です。残念ながら、遺跡はしばらくの間閉鎖されており、さらなる荒廃に任されています。
