The Misselhorn Heath unfolds an almost mystical atmosphere as its vast expanses spread out in gentle waves of heather and silver grass. During the flowering season, the landscape transforms into a shimmering sea of violet and purple, interspersed with the deep green silhouettes of gnarled juniper bushes. Light veils of mist, hovering over the sandy soil in the early morning, lend the heath an air of mystery, as if it were guarding an ancient secret. Those who glide along the quiet paths by bicycle are immersed in a world of colors, scents, and serene vastness – a landscape that both soothes and enchants, like a piece of timeless natural poetry. Experiencing this unique landscape by bicycle is particularly intense – a tranquil yet exhilarating highlight where the colors of the heath, the vastness of the plains, and the special atmosphere of the Misselhorn Heath become unforgettable.

In Schmarbeck near Faßberg, two thatched sheepfolds have been preserved, standing side by side and representing a striking example of traditional heathland building culture. The older building, dating from the early 18th century, is a half-timbered barn on a fieldstone base with a hipped roof, while the younger one is a two-post structure with a fully hipped roof. For many generations, both buildings served as sheep farms. Their original construction and unique layout make them important testimonies to the agricultural use and architectural history of the Lüneburg Heath.

The Faßberg Airlift Museum commemorates the Berlin Airlift of 1948/49, during which large quantities of coal were flown from Faßberg to Berlin. Original documents, exhibits, and photographs are displayed in historic Nissen huts, railway carriages, and on the outdoor display featuring the Douglas C-47 "FASSBERG-FLYER." Segments of the Berlin Wall complement the exhibition. Open daily from April to October, the museum offers a striking insight into this significant chapter in post-war German history.

The residential and commercial building in Altensothrieth, built in 1826, is a typical four-post half-timbered structure on a plinth with a hipped roof. The residential section is covered with red hollow tiles, while the commercial section is thatched. Striking features include the story-high buttresses, red brick infill, and the entry door with a loading hatch and inscriptions on the lintel. The building combines residential and commercial functions and is preserved as a listed example of rural half-timbered architecture from the early 19th century. For cyclists in the Southern Heath, the building is a worthwhile stop: It can easily be incorporated into a circular tour through the picturesque landscape and offers a vivid insight into the region's traditional building culture.

The Dandelion Fountain in Faßberg is located in Yerville Park, a green oasis in the town center, created in 2000 as part of the partnership with the French municipality of Yerville. The fountain is a stylized water feature that replicates the delicate structure of a dandelion, similar to the famous fountain on Robert Meyer Square in Celle. It serves as an aesthetic highlight, a meeting place, and a place of relaxation for residents and visitors, symbolizing the connection between Faßberg and Yerville, as well as cultural exchange and community.

The Unterlüß Forced Labor Memorial is located on Müdener Straße, opposite the junction with Neuensothriether Straße. It was officially inaugurated on April 13, 2021, the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Unterlüß. The memorial includes four information panels providing detailed information about the various types of camps in Unterlüß during the Nazi era. These included a satellite camp of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp (also known as the Tannenberg Camp), a Gestapo labor education camp, an infant home, and numerous company-run forced labor camps that housed thousands of people from various countries.
