Pizzo Leone (1659 m) is considered the guardian of the "Ghridone". Good destination in all seasons but late spring and autumn are ideal. Magnificent view of Lake Maggiore, the Pre-Alps and the Alps.

A fantastic mountain pasture for a scenic break. A visit to Santa Maria degli Angeli is a must. Designed by world-renowned architect Mario Botta, with paintings by Enzo Cucchi, it is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture. The church is easily accessible by cable car. A dirt road is accessible, and circular tours are only possible with mountain bikes for descents on the other side.

This point is an obligatory stop, because it is really worth it, for hikers who have decided to take the beautiful Tamaro->Lema crossing or vice versa Lema->Tamaro 😊
