A newly revised exhibition since 2023. It features bird migration, some information about the national park, and a focus on the two nature reserves Kronenloch and Wöhrdener Loch. Open from Easter to October, Friday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Outside of regular opening hours, the exhibition is open when the "Exhibition Open" sign is displayed. The exhibition has been managed by the Wattenmeer Conservation Station since 2023 and is a National Park Station.

In Dithmarschen between Büsum and Friedrichskoog lies the Meldorfer Speicherkoog, which was embanked at the end of the 1970s and includes the unique nature reserves “Wöhrdener Loch” and “Kronenloch”. In the small exhibition at Meldorfer Hafen, the Wattwurm National Park Station, all questions about the Speicherkoog are answered. To the left of the building there is also a rustic adventure trail.

The sea sports club is cute to look at and impresses with its charming maritime flair 😊...

The new tour through the Dithmarscher State Museum takes you through 1200 years of Dithmarschen, from the wealth of the Peasants' Republic to everyday rural life in the 1960s. Living and business spaces furnished true to the original take guests into the everyday life of the Dithmarschers from 1870 to the 1960s. Phenomena such as social change, economic upturn and a growing range of leisure activities in rural areas become tangible in the listed building of the former Meldorf School of Academics.

No matter which direction you approach Meldorf from, you will be greeted from afar by the "Dithmarscher Cathedral". We are lucky🍀, the door is still open for us because they are still cleaning up for a baptism. St. John's Church, popularly known as the "Dithmarscher Cathedral", is one of the most important medieval church buildings on the west coast. It was built between 1250 and 1300 as a three-aisled basilica with a three-bay transept and a flat-roofed choir. The cathedral received its current exterior appearance after a major fire in 1866. The medieval shape of the interior has essentially been preserved. Before the fire, the church looked more massive, the tower was lower and squatter. Since the organ 🎹 is also being played, we stay in the church a little longer and listen to the music.
