Idyllic gem in the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park between vineyards and dense forests.

The Bleichsee is an artificial lake on a plateau near Löwenstein in the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park, which takes its name from the bleaching of cloth that used to take place there. There is a circular path along the lake that invites you to take a quiet stroll, as do the benches. In early summer, water lilies even bloom in the Bleichsee, while in autumn the colorful autumn leaves are reflected on the surface, creating an Indian summer moment. The Köpfer reservoir serves as flood protection. Even though the lake is idyllically situated in the forest, swimming is prohibited here.

The lake can be completely circumnavigated without climbing any altitude. The beautiful route offers great views of the lake and the vineyards and the surrounding area. Along the path there are bushes and trees that are currently very green. Because it is so flat, the route is also suitable for a nice Sunday outing with small children, who can also take a small bike or scooter with them. Highly recommended.

Rest area at the lake. There are a few benches and a long thick log where several people can sit. Popular swimming spot for dogs. In spring wild garlic sprout all around.

There is still a lack of water, not much was added in the summer.
