The lake can be completely circumnavigated without climbing any altitude. The beautiful route offers great views of the lake and the vineyards and the surrounding area. Along the path there are bushes and trees that are currently very green. Because it is so flat, the route is also suitable for a nice Sunday outing with small children, who can also take a small bike or scooter with them. Highly recommended.

At the end of 2020, work began on draining the lake. The Breitenauer See flood retention basin must undergo an in-depth safety inspection. To do this, all of the water had to be drained so that all safety-relevant systems could be examined and repaired. The lake is now full again.
