Climbing rocks in the forest and viewing platform

For climbers, the name Wailing Wall says it all. Anyone who tries to dig into the tiny holes here can quickly find themselves complaining. The rock is up to seven meters high and is part of the Signal Stone.

Very beautiful castle stables on a rock spur with a summit cross and a view of Ebermannstadt and the Wiesenttal. The view extends from the Reifenberg chapel to the Greifenstein Castle.

All historical sources are silent about the Schlüsselstein castle site. The name itself suggests former ownership by the von Schlüsselberg family. However, since the castle is not mentioned in any inventory of possessions after the end of the Schlüsselberg line in 1347, the structure must have been demolished before then. In any case, there is a wonderful view of the Wiesent valley from there.

There is a bench just below the tower. Ideal for snacks.

With its new (built in 2012), 12-meter-high observation tower, the Hohe Kreuz – the highest point of the "hollow mountain" (522 + 12 m) – is now on par with the Adlerstein in height. The observation tower Hohes Kreuz on the Hohlen Berg, it is located on the hiking route between Muggendorf and Engelhardsberg, the approx. 12 meter high tower offers a good all-round view.
