Especially when the weather is nice and clear, the view over Marburg and the surrounding area is a real delight.

From the Frauenberg castle ruins you have a wonderful view in all directions at any time of year. But be careful: sometimes a very cold wind blows up there! So dress warmly!

From here you have a wonderful view of the Lahn, the beautiful houses on the Lahn and Marburg Castle. There was a bitter fight over the "Green Weir" several years ago because the weir was to be renovated with a lot of concrete and provided with boat steps and the like. Some of the trees and bushes on the bank should also have given way. It's good that it didn't turn out that way and that the many signatures were of some use!!! The “small repair” was completely sufficient. The old "Hirsefeld - Steg" was also repaired a few years ago. In my opinion this worked well.

Nice view of a beautiful castle

The tower is simply part of a trip to Marburg, like the castle and St. Elizabeth's Church, which you can look down on so beautifully from here. But the beautiful hinterland should not be overlooked either! When the weather is good, the sunsets up there are very beautiful.

The building looks like a real fairytale castle. The 'private' and 'no trespassing' probably doesn't apply to some cyclists.

This place has so many names it's easy to get confused. At the beginning of the 19th century it was called "Köhler's peace". From the 1830s it was called "Spiegelslust", because Werner Freiherr von Spiegel zum Desenberg built a pavilion here, which soon became a popular destination. After some back and forth, a long search for a location and even longer discussions, today's tower was inaugurated in 1890 and has been called the "Kaiser Wilhelm Tower" ever since. But what endures and does not change constantly is the magnificent view from up here: At the highest point in Marburg you have an enchanting view over the city and the surrounding area. And at the foot of the tower, the tower café invites you to coffee and cake. Wonderful - that's really worth a trip.
