From the Frauenberg castle ruins you have a wonderful view in all directions at any time of year. But be careful: sometimes a very cold wind blows up there! So dress warmly!

Beautiful in every season and always great reflections

The Rauischer Hof, which was built around 1500 by the Lords of Rau, is a manor house in Rauischholzhausen. With its three-storey half-timbering and roof turrets, it is a landmark for the town in Erbsdorfergrund. In 1873 it became the property of Ferdinand Eduard von Stumm, who had the castle, castle park and castle pond built. In 1938 it was the property of the Wilhelm G. Kerkhoff Foundation, which leased it to the Justus Liebig University in Giessen as a teaching and experimental facility.

There are many beautiful places on the Lahn. For me, one of the most beautiful is the "Ufercafe" because from there you have a wonderful view of the Weidenhäuser Bridge with the Old University, the old town with the castle and the beautiful houses opposite on the street "Am Grün". The walk on the "Trojedamm" and over the "Hirsefeldsteg" also offers sensational views of the "Grüner Wehr", the great old houses on the Lahn and the old town with the castle.

Marburg is a great city where there is always a lot going on and you can experience a lot in addition to the many sights (castle 🏰, Elisabeth Church, Upper Town, etc.).
