Goldbergsee, a 145-hectare reservoir, was originally created as a flood control basin. Today, it is one of the most popular recreational areas in Coburg. The lake was created at the end of 2010. Since then, it has become a popular destination for day trips. The idyllic surroundings offer beautiful views of the majestic Callenberg Castle, which overlooks the lake, and the Glender Wiesen bird sanctuary.

From the platform, you can observe a wide variety of birds and identify them using the information panels. However, the identification panels are quite faded and should be replaced.

The Dürrmühle was first mentioned in a document in 1431 as "Durnhoff". The place name can be derived from a formerly fortified house, the tower, tower house or tower farm, belonging to a fortified complex. This gave rise to Durrnhof, Dürnhofsmühle and finally Dürrmühle. The first mill probably existed as early as the 13th century. It belonged to the Sonnefeld monastery and was probably moved to its current location after 1287. According to the land register of 1514, it had an employed miller who milled for the monastery and the surrounding villages. After the monastery was dissolved in 1525, the miller acquired the Dürrnhof mill. The mill pond was the property of the princely court until 1716. A sawmill was also operated between the middle of the 18th century and the end of the 19th century. The grinding mill was closed in 1968. In 1852, Dürrmühle was incorporated into Frohnlach. In 1950, six people lived in a residential building in Dürrmühle. In 1970, the hamlet had six residents. On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Frohnlach with Dürrmühle was incorporated into Ebersdorf b. Coburg. In 1987, four people lived in the hamlet; there was a residential building with one apartment.
