Unfortunately, the tower was closed on Thursday, but a climb/ride up to this historic castle ruin is definitely worthwhile 🤗

A welcome stop on the way through. With a bit of good will, you'll naturally spot a moated castle 🤔 It's also the setting for medieval markets. There's a knights' playground for children 👍

In mid-September 2024, the tower was unfortunately closed (again), as was the adjacent restaurant. There is currently no solution for the hiking trail (Calenberg-Harz) that runs through the garden restaurant. We walked behind the tower and then a short distance across the property. Fortunately, we didn't encounter any dogs.

Great playground for the little ones with a pirate theme!

You already know some of them from the first opening last summer: the new beach bar on the Salzgittersee right next to the pirate playground. A lot has changed since then. Not only because of the corona pandemic, but also because of the entrepreneurial spirit of the three operators: Julian Tiburczy, Ilmas Acar and Mahsum Acar, whose first name initials in this order make up the "JIM" in the name of the bar. The three friends in their early thirties have known each other since school and have been a trio for alternative gastronomy in the region for years. (Source: https://www.bs-live.de)
