In 1877, the Ettlingen Beautification Association built a pavilion called "Friedrichshöhe" in honor of the Grand Duke of Baden, Friedrich. During the period of firewood shortage after World War II, the dilapidated hut was gradually torn down and burned at home. At the beginning of the 1970s, the forestry administration built another shelter on the same spot.

A beautiful vantage point over the Rhine plain with protection from the rain. The view is otherwise blocked by the forest in the area.

I've hidden from the rain here before, the location is perfect

Well-kept new hut with a view over Ettlingen and the Rhine plain. It's even better from a freestanding bank nearby. In terms of perspective, however, there are nicer vantage points in the vicinity for me, the direction of view is rather limited, especially in the direction of the Palatinate Forest.
