20世紀初頭にバロン・フォン・ヴァルトハウゼンによって造られた古い養魚池。一時は雑草に覆われていましたが、数年前にボランティアの手によって再び整備されました。テーブルとベンチがあり、休憩に最適です。7つあった池のうち、2つは高速道路建設の犠牲になったようです。

Through open terrain dotted with gnarled oaks and pines, we reach the Seven Ponds, which are arranged in a cascade. Benches invite you to linger here.

The path has descended beautifully. Nettles reach up to the handlebars. It's a shame, things used to be different.

A detour to the Eicher ice cream parlor Fontana at the municipal administration is always worth a visit

The Seven Ponds Project. See my picture of the information board! Coming from above, you'd easily drive right past it. Look for the shelter; then you're in the right place.

There is a lovely resting place up here at the Seven Ponds. They were once created for fish farming, but are now being restored to their natural state. Although not all of the ponds are still there, the area is still beautiful to look at. You can find out more about the history of the ponds on an information board.

Lake Eicher is connected to the Rhine, so the lake is surrounded by a holiday resort with weekend homes, many of which have their own private jetty. Several spots offer excellent views of the lake. The terrace of the Kleine Kneipe (small pub) is located directly on the shore and offers cyclists and hikers a great place to take a break. Lake Eicher is not really a swimming spot, however.
